Kisspeptin-10
Master switch upstream of the HPG axis
R 975
10mg vial
Dose-dependent LH releaseGeorge 2011: IV kisspeptin-10 in healthy men raised LH from 4.1 to 12.4 IU/L at 1 µg/kg, peaking 30 min post-dose.
Restores LH pulsatility1.5 µg/kg/h infusion lifted LH pulse frequency from 0.7 to 1.0 pulses/h; rescued pulsatility in hypothalamic amenorrhoea and diabetic hypogonadism.
Raises endogenous testosterone22.5-h infusion at 4 µg/kg/h pushed total testosterone from 16.6 to 24.0 nmol/L.
Triggers ovulation pre-ovulatory phaseRobust LH surge response in late-follicular women; explored as a milder ovulation trigger than HCG.
Kisspeptin-10 is the C-terminal decapeptide fragment of the KISS1 gene product. It binds the GPR54 (KISS1R) receptor on hypothalamic GnRH neurons, sitting one step upstream of the entire HPG axis: kisspeptin tells GnRH neurons to fire, GnRH then drives pituitary LH/FSH release, which in turn drives testicular or ovarian steroidogenesis.
